Kurogami Day Hike



Hi everyone how`s the Obon holiday going? I just got back from a dive trip in Kagoshima, the diving was great blue water and sunny skies! Before I went to Kagoshima I took a day and hiked up Mt. Kurogami. The mountain is located just outside of Takao city in Saga prefecture and what a great hike! With most of the hike under the cover of the forest canopy even on the hottest day you can still make the hike comfortably.



As you work your way up the mountain you follow a cool stream and some great rock formations and as you head up you reach a ridgeline that you traverse as you head up to the top. The view from the top is fantastic but you have to do a short climb to reach it.



The start of the way down is a little steep and you need to use some ropes and ladders but once you clear those the way down is really smooth with some great view points along the way. Even though the mountain is only 516 metres high it is still a great day hike! Amarok`s next trip to this area is on Sunday August 31st, join us on this terrific hike send an email for details.
